We recognize that your time is valuable and make every attempt to limit your wait time. We intentionally do not overbook our schedules to ensure you the best experience for your visit.

However, to ensure this perfect experience for you, we need the cooperation of all patients to be on time for their scheduled appointments and to call the office at least 48 hours in advance for cancellations. We charge a $75 fee for appointments that are not canceled 48 hours in advance. Additional fees may apply if booking for specialized cosmetic procedures requiring additional resources or advance preparation. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we cannot guarantee that appointment and may need to reschedule you if there are other patients waiting.

As in any appointment-based system, when tardiness and unannounced cancellations occur, it affects the scheduling pattern and waiting experience for everyone. Our goal is to keep your waiting times minimal and your experience enjoyable.

All new patients should print out, complete, and bring the required forms to their appointment. All new patients must fill out the “Authorization Release Health Info” and “Financial Policy”. New patients with a concern that is considered general dermatology (i.e. a concern covered by insurance such as moles, skin cancer, acne, warts, rashes) or cosmetic dermatology (i.e. a concern not typically covered by insurance such as Botox, laser, scars, wrinkles) should also complete the “Intake Form”.

Policy Change for Dr. Graber’s Patients as of September 1, 2022

Dr. Graber no longer accepts any insurance plans for general dermatology services. The other providers at DIB, including Dr. Freya Meyer, and Dr. Ali Al-Haseni, will still accept most commercial insurance plans. As always, cosmetic dermatology visits are not covered by insurance.

What Does This Mean?

If you want to see Dr. Graber for a general dermatology visit (i.e., mole skin check, acne, rash, warts) there will be a flat fee for this type of visit. You will not be charged a co-pay and your visit will not be billed to your insurance company. Will This Change Cosmetic Dermatology Charges? No. Cosmetic dermatology visit (i.e., Botox, lasers, microneedling) charges will still be the same.

What If I Want to Bill My General Dermatology Visit to My Insurance?

You still may and you have several options:
1. You may see Dr. Meyer, or Dr. Al-Haseni, as they will still be accepting most major commercial insurance plans.
2. You may still see Dr. Graber and her rate for general dermatology visits for established patients will be $195. If a patient is new to The Dermatology Institute of Boston and they want to see Dr. Graber for a general dermatology concern, then the charge will be $295. You are welcome to use your HSA card to pay for your visit. Additionally, you are welcome to submit your costs to your insurance for reimbursement as an out-of-network visit.

What Is Included in A General Dermatology Visit?

If you choose to see Dr. Graber and pay the out-of-pocket fee ($195 for established patients and $295 for new patients), it includes general dermatology services that can be accomplished within your 15-minute appointment timeframe. If you need a skin biopsy, there is no extra charge. If you need lesions frozen, there is no extra charge.

Does This Mean That I No Longer Need a Referral to See Dr. Graber?

Yes! This makes things much easier for patients as they will no longer need to track down a referral from their primary care physician to see Dr. Graber. You simply call our office, pay the flat rate, and you get an appointment. Less hassle.
