If you’re unhappy with the gaunt appearance of your cheeks, our dermatologists can help restore youthful volume with Restylane Lyft®. This FDA-approved injectable treatment instantly plumps the skin in the midface, offering impressive volume correction and revitalizing your appearance.
The Dermatology Institute of Boston provides a wide variety of cosmetic skin treatments, including Restylane Lyft and other dermal fillers. Contact us for a consultation at our clinic, located near Copley Square and a number of retail options, including Neiman Marcus.
The best candidates for Restylane Lyft are patients with hollow cheeks due to age-related fat loss from the underlying fat layer. People with moderate to severe midface folds and wrinkles are also good candidates. Additionally, patients who have lost volume in the backs of their hands are excellent candidates.
If you have a history of autoimmune diseases, bleeding disorders, or skin infections in the areas targeted for treatment, discuss these with your dermatologist. These issues can potentially affect candidacy. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, it’s best not to come in for Restylane Lyft treatments.
Patients with fine age lines around the eyes or on the forehead should avoid Restylane Lyft and instead undergo Botox, Dysport, or Daxxify treatments. These neuromodulators allow the muscles in these areas to relax, causing fine wrinkles to ease away.
Hyaluronic acid, or HA, is a substance that is naturally found in the skin tissues, giving the skin its youthful volume and plumpness. Over time, the body’s supply of HA is reduced due to factors like sun exposure, smoking, pollution, and the natural aging process.
Restylane Lyft is a gel-based soft-tissue injectable dermal filler composed of synthetic hyaluronic acid. It is manufactured using NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid) Technology, and because it’s a non-animal-sourced product, there’s no need for allergy testing beforehand.
Using NASHA Technology in the manufacturing process results in larger hyaluronic acid molecules for increased firmness. These molecules are cross-linked for longer-lasting cosmetic results.
When Restylane Lyft is injected into the skin tissues, it supplements the body’s HA supply. The hyaluronic acid molecules bond with water molecules. This creates instant volume in the area, restoring volume to the cheeks and the backs of the hands.

The cost of Restylane Lyft injectable treatments depends on the details of each patient’s case. The patient’s aesthetic goals can play a role in determining pricing, as can the specific areas being addressed and the amount of product needed.
Your Restylane Lyft consultation will take place at our Boston clinic, located at the corner of Dartmouth St. and Stuart St. We’re not far from upscale restaurants like La Padrona, OAK Long Bar + Kitchen, and Sorellina.
During the consultation, Dr. Vashi will examine your face, evaluating your skin quality and features. You will go over your treatment needs and goals, and Dr. Vashi will ask questions about your current medications and supplements. She will also ask about allergies, pre-existing conditions, and any recent treatments.
Dr. Vashi will go over the details of the Restylane Lyft treatment process from start to finish, including preparation directions, aftercare instructions, and your potential results. Feel free to ask questions anytime during your consultation.
A Restylane Lyft treatment session can take around a half an hour or less. It begins with cleansing the treatment areas, followed by application of a topical numbing cream. Restylane Lyft is mixed with lidocaine before the treatment, resulting in increased patient comfort.
Once the numbing has taken effect, Dr. Vashi delivers precise injections of Restylane Lyft deep into the skin layers. She does this using either an ultrafine needle or a blunt-tipped cannula, depending on the treatment area. The amount of product injected will be based on the patient’s specific needs and goals.
The results of Restylane Lyft can be seen immediately in the form of volumized skin and a reduction in age signs. These results can last for up to one year. After this point, patients often return for maintenance treatments.
Immediately following a treatment session, patients can get right back to their daily schedule without a recovery period. This makes Restylane Lyft an incredibly convenient cosmetic option.
A minor degree of swelling, bruising, and redness may be present immediately after treatment. These can take up to two weeks to fully ameliorate. To help the process along, apply cold compresses to the area and keep your head elevated at all times.
To prevent increased bruising and bleeding, do not take any NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) for around one week. For at least three days, avoid extreme heat, including prolonged sun exposure and sun lamps, since heat can exacerbate swelling and redness. Apply sunscreen regularly.
Do not put pressure on the injection site, since this can cause unintended filler migration. Avoid physically taxing activities like heavy exercise for one to two days, along with alcohol.
Along with Restylane Lyft, we offer a number of fillers in the Restylane family, each designed for its own specific use.
Restylane-L®: This versatile dermal filler is designed to address moderate and harsh midface age lines, restore volume to hollow areas, and enhance thin lips.
Restylane Refyne®: This softer filler creates subtler results, making it best for subtler age lines and minor volume loss. It flows very naturally with the facial tissues.
Restylane Defyne®: This thicker filler creates more dramatic results, making it best for harsher age lines and more pronounced volume loss.
